nib’s “Win Your Next Escape” Competition

  1. These Terms and Conditions apply to the nib “Win Your Next Escape” competition offered by the Promoter (“Competition”).

  2. Information on how to enter and information on Prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions.

  3. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  4. The Competition commences at 12:01 am on 19/05/2016 (AEST) and closes at 11.59 pm (AEST) on 30/6/2016 (“Competition Period”). Eligibility of Entry

  5. Entry into the Competition is only open to permanent residents or citizens of Australia, aged 18 years or older who purchase a nib Travel Insurance policy (Policy) and transmit an entry that is received during the Competition Period (“Eligible Entrant”). This promotion is not open to any employees or family members of employees of nib or its related companies or any person who purchases a Policy and then subsequently cancels that Policy on or before 5 July 2016 (“Ineligible Persons”).

  6. To enter, entrants must purchase a Policy from nib Travel Insurance during the promotion period, read these conditions, choose one of the two destinations which they would want to go to if they win (Japan or Hawaii), and complete an online submission for either Japan at https://nib.we.com.au/japan-entry-page or for Hawaii at https://nib.we.com.au/hawaii-entry-page. Fill in the online form with your first name, last name, email address, nib customer number (if applicable), best contact number, and answer the question in 25 words or less, “what is your next big adventure or dream destination and why?”

  7. Entries will be deemed to have been received by the Promoter at the time of receipt into World Nomads’ database and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.

  8. All entries must meet the following conditions:
      (a) the entry must be the entrant’s original work and not breach copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party; and
      (b) the entry must not use offensive or derogatory language; and
        (c) use of the entry by nib must not be restricted in any way. Entries will be disqualified for breach of these conditions.
  9. Eligible Entrants may submit only one (1) entry and must select either Japan or Hawaii at the time of entry and any additional or other submissions or entries will not be entered in the Competition and will not be considered for the Prize. Prize, Prize Draw & Redemption 10. The prizes are as follows:
      • a. Japan Prize: 2 economy class return flights to Sapporo via Tokyo, Japan with Qantas from the winner’s closest capital city (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth) up to the total fare value of $3153.65 (inclusive of taxes and charges). Prize also includes return door to door transfers from Chitose airport to Niseko ski resort including an “in resort” door to door shuttle, 7 nights’ accommodation at Alpen Hotel (twin room including breakfast daily), 2 x 6 day All Mountain lift pass incl. unlimited night skiing and travel insurance for two people from nib Travel Insurance, including cover for snow sports* (valued at approx $289.13) and $500 spending money (to be loaded on a travel card).

      Total prize valued at up to $7096AUD (quoted on 11 April 2016). Travel must commence on 19 February 2017, returning 28 February 2017. Once booked, if the accommodation & flights do not come to the total prize pool amount, the prize winner will not receive the difference.


        b. Hawaii Prize: 2 economy class return flights to Honolulu with Hawaiian Airlines from either Sydney or Brisbane, (if the winner’s closest capital city is Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth, return domestic flights will also be provided), up to the total airfare value of $3,000 (inclusive of taxes and charges). In the event that flights are not available on the selected Airline, an alternative airline may be used. Prize also includes 7 nights’ accommodation at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa in Waikiki (or an equivalent rated property - subject to availability) and return airport transfers for a total value of accommodation & transfers of $4,000. Travel insurance for two people will also be supplied by nib Travel Insurance* (valued at approx $200) and $500 spending money (to be loaded on a travel card).

        Total prize valued at up to $7,700AUD (quoted at 11 April 2016). Once booked, if the accommodation & flights do not come to the total prize pool amount, the prize winner will not receive the difference. Travel must be booked by 31 August 2016 and travel must be completed by 31 May 2017. Blackout periods and exclusions will apply including but not limited to Christmas and New Year holidays. Winning holiday will be booked through an italktravel store. * Please note that travel insurance will be issued subject to the applicants’ meeting eligibility criteria and subject to the policy terms and conditions. Any additional costs which are incurred by the winners will be at their own expense.
  10. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in the value of the prizes. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. In the event that any prize or part thereof is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater recommend retail value.

  11. The Japan prize will be supplied by Deep Powder Tours with all information sent via email to the winner. The Hawaii prize will be organised by italktravel Newcastle with all information sent via email to the winner.

  12. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of taking any of the prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

  13. Judging of all qualifying entries received during the Competition Period from eligible entrants will take place on the 6th July 2016 between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm (AEDT) at the offices of World Nomads at Level 21, 680 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000.

  14. The judges will choose two (2) winners (one winner from the Japan competition entries and one winner from the Hawaii competition entries) as the entrants with the most creative and original responses to the question asked. The entries deemed by the judging panel as the best entry in the Japan competition and the best entry in the Hawaii competition will be awarded the Japan Prize or the Hawaii Prize listed in Clause 10. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.

  15. The winning entrants will be selected by the Promoter’s Group Executive, International and New Business.

  16. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, is incomprehensible, illegible, incomplete, or includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  17. The Prize winners will be contacted via email on the same day as judging. The name of Prize winners will be published on 7th July 2016 at the nib website at www.nib.com.au/nib-news (refer to Privacy consent below).

  18. If necessary, the Promoter may judge runner-up entries for an unclaimed Prize on 11th July 2016 between 7:00am and 4:00pm (AEDT) at the offices of World Nomads at Level 21, 680 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 in order to award the unclaimed Prize. All non-winning entries from the original competition will be included in the competition for the unclaimed Prize. The winner of any unclaimed Prize will be contacted via phone by 5:00pm (AEST) on the same day as the second round of judging.

  19. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, damage or injury as a result of technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches, or use of the prize. If such problems arise, then the Promoter may (where necessary with the approval of the relevant authority) modify the Competition.

    Privacy

  20. World Nomads Group will collect personal information from entrants in order to conduct the Competition. If the information is not provided, the entrant may not be able to submit an entry in the Competition or claim a Prize and their entry may be discarded.

  21. By entering the competition, entrants consent to the information they submit with their entry, including name, city of residence and literary response, being entered into a database, and the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes [including sending it by electronic communication] which may include a photograph of the prize winner, without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant. The Promoter’s Privacy policy sets out information on how you can access or correct your personal information and how you may complain about a breach of privacy.   22. The information an entrant provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions or complaints about the Competition must be sent to the Promoter and not to World Nomads Group.

  23. Employees and contractors of the Promoter and World Nomads Group and each of their immediate families are not eligible to enter into the Competition.

  24. The Promoter is nib health funds limited (ABN 83 000 124 381) 20 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle, 2300. “World Nomads Group” means World Nomads Group Pty Limited at Level 21, 680 George St, Sydney, NSW 2000, a related entity of the Promoter.
